Midwest Valve Services, A Novaspect Company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Repair Technician with an emphasis in control valve and field services to join our fast paced, customer oriented team. The successful candidate will have excellent industrial aptitude and will be committed to the success of our company.
Repair Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA standards
Participate in the repair, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of control valves
Participate in the servicing, tuning, calibrating, starting up and commissioning of mechanical products and/or automated controls (i.e. panels, digital controllers, control valves, metering and building automation equipment)
Assist with the repair and testing of safety relief, industrial isolation valves, and actuators
Rigging and hoisting valve and actuator components in compliance with OSHA standards
Assist in loading and unloading tools and equipment into service vehicles
Apply math skills to verify measurements, calculate dimensions and verify tolerances
Complete valve repair and service reports
Maintain a clean work environment
Average travel time is up to 40% (Monday-Friday) over the course of the year. This means local travel to customer sites to perform on-site work and travel as needed throughout the Midwest.
Spring and Fall are outage seasons and are the busy travel times of the year
Weekends and afterhours work may be required, up to 20% of the time
Overnight travel is required

Requirements
Repair Technician Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma Required
Associates Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical or elated Technology field Preferred
Dedication to a safe work environment through effective housekeeping, workplace safety, etc.
Industrial maintenance or industrial valve repair preferred
Industrial electricity experience or actuator setup preferred
Industrial safety and relief valve experience preferred
Industrial electrical safety preferred
Repair Technician Additional Requirements:
Must have electrical aptitude
Must be able to take direction, use initiative and follow through to completion
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems
Strong attention to detail and conscientious nature
Ability and strong desire to lead by example, as well as work well with others
Must be willing to work on site at customer facilities
Must have a valid driverβs license and the ability to be insured on company insurance
Must be willing to learn and improve skill level for future advancement
Work weekends and afterhours as needed
Repair Technician Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects/tools
Ability to work with hand tools
Ability to work at heights
Ability to stoop, crawl and crouch while working on equipment on hands and knees
Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours per day
Ability to work in a loud industrial environment
Comfortable working around industrial equipment with exposed moving parts
Ability to climb stairs (up to 20 flights per day)
Ability to climb a 20 ft. ladder
Ability to work with up to 480 volts
Ability to drive on average 3-4 hours in a day
Ability to drive 8 hours as needed in a day β although not typical
Ability to work in high and cold temperature environments for extended hours
Repair Technician Pay:
Hourly Range: $24 - $34
Additional pay for field work
Overtime eligible
