Job Description
AECOM is hiring for an Entry-Level Civil Engineer in our North Charleston, SC office.
This position is expected to start immediately.
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assist with plans, specifications, and permitting
Perform civil engineering modeling, design, and drafting work for engineers and project managers
Assist with preparing/reviewing cost estimates, job budgets and schedules
Support preparation of final plans, reports, and calculations
Coordinate work with other engineers and multi-discipline professionals
Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files
Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support
Assist with resolution of construction issues and conducting site observations
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Proficient with MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD)
Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to travel on business periodically for periods of up to 2-3 days
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company
Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary
Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Minimum 6 months technical work experience in civil engineering or related field (e.g. summer internships, Co-Op).
